Our Sadie Lady has taught us a lot about life in the years we had her. Today is a week that she has been playing care free in heaven at Rainbow Bridge. To the memories, legacy, joy, and love you left behind for us...
Seeing your picture in the sign in office at my work, I knew we were connected to you. I just had to convince your daddy to just meet you.
Driving to meet you, I was so nervous b/c I wanted you to like us. Your dad said if you were scared we would have to walk away. As we knocked on the door, the little/big head that peeped around the door was you! So anxious to see who was on the other side. You backed away a little, but I know you wanted to let us in and get settled before you did you thing. You had so many tricks to show us over and over again like how you constantly wanted to shake with us! Then your tail had the most adorable wag ever seen, it spun in a circle then zig-zag, then a circle, then the other way...you were about to take off with that tail of yours! We knew immediately you were ours. Just had to learn to shake on command.
Our first stop was at Petsmart and then Petco across the street. Just couldn't find the right collar and leash for you. Your bark startled us as you noticed another dog. We made a mental note and thought we would have to work on this bark towards other dogs, maybe Cesar would be the best option for us. After a $100 or so we headed home to set your toy, bone, treats, food, and bed up. This is where our journey together began...
-being walked by the bike with your dad you had so much energy
- loved to play Monkey in the Middle you were the monkey with your ball
- found out you didn't like to play fetch. Just didn't bring it back to play another round.
-enjoyed playing Keep Away from your mom or dad in the back yard and inside.
-Your first favorite toy was Hippo. The squeakier was a competition with your self, but you were so gentle with your animal.
- lavished in your grandpa's left over Dobash cake that was left on the counter and in a plastic bag.
- ate an entire box of chocolate left on the computer desk. Mommy was dumb
-when guest came over you had to be petted and show them your shake trick.
-learned to shake on command, lay down, and stay. Your already knew to sit and potty outside.
-the sound of your leash and collar made you anxious for your walk.
-you had a mohawk every time you saw a dog walk past you.
- how quickly you stopped barking or growling when we sprayed you with the water bottle. You immediately turned to a puppy who just wanted to say "hi" with your whining and grunting noises.
- the Cesar noise never worked on you, your daddy tried. You loved the noise your mommy would make, this loud obnoxious noise, but it worked every time. Dad was jealous that you listened to me more. ;-)
- daddy would wake up in the middle of the night panicked that you were on the bed, "Where is she!"
-one time you did sleep on our bed and you didn't budged so we could at least get comfortable. Daddy went to go pick you up in the complete darkness and you growled at him. I laughed! He was a scared little boy! I knew you just couldn't see and were scared too.
-You were on the logo for your dad's first brew.
- always so thoughtful with your gifts for birthdays, Christmas, and Mother/Fathers' Day. Just loved my back massager and cards.
-being protective of Ginger when Max and Shiloh came over. You sat them down and when one moved you told them to get back.
-The Bossy Lady was a nickname you acquired.
- the rhythm you created as you licked your paws in the middle of the night!!!
-the annoying sound of you trying to get settled in your room in the middle of the night!!
-learned to "Sit Pretty" from Ginger.
- how you could never relax in the car rides any where. Had to see everything go by.
-found your way to the dog park on your own.
- loved to go on walks so you could smell, smell, smell.
- enjoyed going to the dog park, but would rather smell then play. You put your two cents in here and there with the dogs.
- any bag sound you heard in the kitchen you thought was your treat.
-how you would lay near the kitchen to be close to us, you were very good at not going into the kitchen.
- loved following us from room to room
- the top of the stairs was one of your two spots you loved to lay.

-when we would watch TV or movies you start by laying near us then walk off to a quiet place.
- Monkey and Ele were your other two favorite animals.
-loved to lay your head on the bottom shelf of the coffee table
-your hot, warm breath on us as we relaxed on the couch.
-every time daddy and I hugged you wanted to join.
- putting on socks or shoes was your favorite part of the morning, "Gotta get in their faces."
-the sneezes you made after daddy put on his cologne.
-how you laid right outside the bathroom as we got ready.
-your Yoda ears!
-the twitches and noises you made as you were dreaming!
- You sang to the Ice Cream Truck Song with your whole heart!
-Discovering that you sang to that song from a Wendy's commercial.
-every time I tried to make your bed you walked right in before I could finish.
- any time there was a blanket on the floor you thought it was yours.
- sometimes your ear would stand up when you laid down. trying real hard to listen.
- when we would leave you free in the house you ended up on the couch. your evidence was left behind.
- we decided to put you in your room after that and you loved it.
- you didn't mind wearing costumes, or having clothes placed on your back.
- enjoyed eating your dad's work out gels and protein bars from his gym bag that was left in our bedroom. Thought we would be nice and let you roam our room. We gave you an inch you took a foot.
- Adored your grandpa and his attention.
-how you hated baths and the hose.
- you knew if you saw the hose on the patio you were getting a bath and wouldn't come outside.
- when I washed you in the bath tub by myself in the winter, I got the bath instead!
- how you had to go see every one that came in the house
- ran upstairs, downstairs, and to us when the door bell rang...never once barked but you were excited and couldn't figure out exactly where the sound came from.
- you helped your daddy choose to work at Petco Corporate office
- exhausted from going to work with your daddy
- helped make your doggy-travel-catch all hair cover for the car
- the pounds of under coat that came off when we brushed you
- when mommy would vacuum your hair, hours later there it was again.
- you came into the bathroom on your own terms, some times all the way to the other end!
- scampering off when daddy would say "Get in there" and point to the bathroom.
-when you "danced" with your daddy
-when you "danced" with your daddy
- being a trooper as we hiked in the Davis Mountains.
- crashed underneath the smallest and only tree on the trail nearing the end, then Daddy having to carry you home!
-slept with us to keep us warm in the tent.

- when I played Hide and Go Seek with you in the house.
-plopping your legs, half your body, or head on Mommy and Daddy just so you can snuggle when we were on the floor.
- loved getting in your Daddy's way if he was doing push ups or crunches from P90X
- getting a REAL bone from your dad.
- getting a REAL bone from your dad.
-when you ate a cricket your Daddy threw at you.
-you hated flies and tried to catch them
-the white paw and white chest you had
-how your tail wagged in a circle
-placing your head on the couch or on our knee with your sweet puppy eyes.
You loved when we were sad, you loved when were were happy, you loved when we were sick, you loved when we were hurting, you loved when we argued. Some how you would make us smile at the right time to melt the angry feelings away. You loved when you were hurting. You just loved and always loved. You loved as God loves. You were our Doghter and will always be our Sadie, Good Girl, Sa Lai, Lai Lai, Sadie Lady, Red Tipped Lady, and The Lady.
For I don't know why your time with us was so short, but I do know that God intended us to have you, and you to have us. For that I know you will be waiting for me and your daddy in heaven. Some may say animals don't go to heaven, but in my heart I know the special pets that have saved, loved, and assited God's children have a special place in His heart and in His home, maybe it is Rainbow Bridge.
You will always be a Big Sister to our babies that will come. The front window is your guarding spot and we will share your story and your spot to your siblings. They will know about you all the days of their lives. I know you will be there watching over us. For your red-tipped hairs pop up at the perfect time as a reminder of your constant love.
I leave you with two poems:
The unconditional love you gave,
The friendship that we knew,
I'll plant these flowers in the
Ground for the memory of you,
And when they bloom
I'll make a wish,
And hope my wish comes true:
I'll see you at Rainbow Bridge,
Together we'll pass through
I close my eyes and think of you,
In my heart you'll always be,
And whisper that "I love your" too,
From here to Eternity
